Language Arts WebQuests http://www.middleschool.net/less_tut/webquests/lawq.htm If you have never tried a WebQuest then this is a site you have to go to. A WebQuest is a student led learning experience that motivates students to actively participate in learning. (Grades 5-8)

Book Hive http://www.bookhive.org/ This site is a wonderful place for book reviews for many ages.  There are also stories that can be listened to on-line.  Great place to for search for a good book. (Grades K-7)

Children’s Literature Web Guide - http://www.ucalgary.ca/~dkbrown/ The Children's Literature Web Guide is an attempt to gather together and categorize the growing number of Internet resources related to books for Children and Young Adults. (Grades Pre-K - 12)

Cyber Guides: http://www.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/SCORE/cyberguide.html This is a GREAT site to use with students.  Teacher Guides and Student Activities, were created by California teachers as supplementary, standards-based, web-delivered units of instruction centered on core works of literature. (Grades K-12)

Book Adventure: http://www.bookadventure.org/ This is a really cool site that offers a summer reading program similar to AR.  Children create their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by the Sylvan Learning Foundation and is a non-profit organization. Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades (Grades K-8).

This site has students take the role of reporters and editors to research, write, and publish their own newspaper. The site includes unit outlines, handouts, exercises, information about how to write, and more. (Grades 5-9)
