Float Your Boats!
Want to excite your students with an integrated curriculum project? Come see
how to have your students create scale models of boats. Students will then make
full life size boats out of cardboard, integrating all subject areas! The
culminating activity is to actually FLOAT in these boats at your local swimming
pool! (All core Areas NCLB)
Revolutionary Bio’s Come ALIVE!

literature and history into biographical sketches that come alive! This activity

writing, and public speaking skills.

“Here Lies” Biographies
This activity is a creative way to make learning about historical figures fun.
“Memorialize” a historical figure and nurture your students Multiple
Intelligences at the same time. The culminating activity is a memorial day with
music, drama, eulogies and more! (History NCLB)
Starting The Fire!
This is a great opening or closing year activity. The students research and
build on Billy Joel’s song “We didn’t Start the Fire.” Through this activity,
the students learn recent history facts, analyze the video for meaning, discover
famous historical photos, and create their “own history” using writing skills.
Music can be a great way to motivate students to discover their past.
